RATIONALE:
Self-esteem--feeling worthy and able to meet life’s challenges--is as essential as the air we breathe and just as intangible. It can impact our job, happiness, health, and our relationships with others.
The development of healthy self-esteem enables a person to respond and adapt to the demands of life in a confident manner. The ability to be resilient--able to rebound from disappointment, adversity or rejection--is a large part of building self-esteem.
Stress in our lives, such as family problems, illness, the death of a loved one, divorce, or having a financial setback can greatly deplete our reserves of self-esteem.
The good news is that we can also learn to rebuild it.
